Job Description:
Chief Accounting OfficerThe Christian Wyatt Group is working
exclusively with a financial institution in need of a Chief
Accounting Officer to team up with their Chief Financial Officer
and carry out the finance and accounting department's goals. Our
firm solely focuses on the $0 to $20B banking vertical nationwide.
That's what we do. It's all we do. This client relationship is new
to us, but we have known the CFO for fourteen plus years and have a
great relationship with them. In this role, they are looking for a
seasoned leader who can handle complex transactions and work across
business lines. Reporting to the CFO, you'll play a central role in
managing financial processes and guiding the accounting team, with
your clear tactical/strategic grasp of planning, analysis, and
reporting demands. The job covers a lot of ground: you'll help
oversee financial activities-think reporting, budgeting,
forecasting, tax management, and investor relations-while syncing
with the CFO and Chief Strategy and Treasury Officer to fold
strategic plans into actionable numbers. You'll keep monthly
reconciliations on track, review internal reports, and assist with
annual audited financials, ensuring FDICIA compliance and
maintaining strong internal controls. It's
detail-oriented-researching accounting and regulatory rules to help
stay ahead of the curve, you'll be coordinating with subsidiaries
for accurate consolidations, and making sure management has the
tools to do their job. You'll lead the accounting team, setting a
tone of accountability and growth, further enhancing the already
collaborative culture, putting your own fingerprints on the team
and processes. They're looking for someone specific: 10 years of
financial management in a bank, including five as a senior
accounting leader, ideally at a $3B-$5B+ institution, with a degree
in Business, Accounting, Economics, or Finance-CPA or master's is a
plus. You need a firm handle on financials, quick thinking for
risks and decisions, and the ability to solve problems without
hesitation. Trust and communication matter-building across teams,
holding folks accountable, and being a pillar for folks is key.
It's about getting things done, with confidence, not cockiness, in
a key role that keeps the bank compliant and moving forward to
greater goals. This is a key position with a bank that's steady and
focused, offering a culture of teamwork and precision, and pay that
matches your experience. If you've got a decade in banking, senior
bank accounting expertise, and the skills to step in and lead,
please reach out confidentially. We'd be glad to discuss how you
might fit.
