- Job Details
- IU Health is now offering charge pay, which is a $3.00 bill
rate bump per hour
- First Time Travelers Accepted
- Shift Requirements: 3x12s ONLY
- Locals: NOT accepted
- Call-Ins: If a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift, the
traveler is expected to make up the day during the pay period, if a
0.9 FTE. OR if a 0.9 FTE and unable to make up during the pay
period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler
contract. If a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end
of the contract
- Weekends: Travelers are expected to work every other week per
their contract. Pending operational needs, consecutive weekends may
be needed based on the greatest need
- Charge coverage: Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse
responsibilities may be needed with provided training and
resources
- Floating Requirements: Unit travelers may be expected to float
to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources
provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals
- Staffing Ratios: 1:4
- Effective 9/1, the COVID vaccine is required for all travelers
at IU Health campuses. Declinations will not be accepted; however
medical or religious exemptions will be accepted with a doctor's
note provided.
- Effective 11/30/24, IU Health will not allow IN RN's to work at
their facilities (SEE EXCEPTIONS BELOW).
- Periop/OR RN's, Allied and Ambulatory RN travelers are exempt
from this rule. These IN travelers are allowed to work past the
11/30 deadline. Periop includes ENDO, IR RN, PACU, Cath Lab RN, SDS
- Job Requirements
- Valid Driver's License or Passport accepted. Must be clear
copy.
- Online Verification of License to include expiration date and
any disciplinary actions (within 30 days before start date). Must
be through primary source. IN.gov.LICENSING: Task the Program
Manager for approvals on license issues.
- Schedule Information
- Shift Requirements: 3x12s ONLY
- Travelers are expected to work every other week per their
contract. Pending operational needs, consecutive weekends may be

- Unit Specific Information
- Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of
care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed at both
University and Methodist Hospitals.
- Additional Details
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support is required for all
candidates.
- BLS - Basic Life Support is required for all candidates.
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support is required as
applicable.
- NIH Stroke Certification is required for candidates at
stroke-certified facilities.
