  • IU Health is now offering charge pay, which is a $3.00 bill rate bump per hour
  • Shift Requirements: 3x12s ONLY.
  • Call-Ins: If a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to make up the day during the pay period, if a 0.9 FTE. OR if a 0.9 FTE and unable to make up during the pay period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract. If a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract
  • Locals: NOT accepted.
  • Weekends: Travelers are expected to work every other week per their contract. Pending operational needs, consecutive weekends may be needed based on the greatest need
  • Charge coverage: Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resources.
    • Job Requirements
    • Minimum 2 Year Experience; Will consider MedSurg RN with ICU and PCU patient experience with an additional two years.
    • Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals.
    • Staffing Ratios: PCU assignments are 1:4 and MedSurg assignments are 1:5-6, sometimes due to the skill set of the resource staff we receive, we may mix our MedSurg and PCU patients in an assignment of 4-5 patients as well.
      • Schedule Information
      • Travelers are expected to work every other week per their contract. Pending operational needs, consecutive weekends may be needed based on the greatest need.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals.
          • Additional Details
          • Effective 9/1, the COVID vaccine is required for all travelers at IU Health campuses. Declinations will not be accepted; however medical or religious exemptions will be accepted with a doctor's note provided.
          • Effective 11/30/24, IU Health will not allow IN RN's to work at their facilities (SEE EXCEPTIONS BELOW). Periop/OR RN's, Allied and Ambulatory RN travelers are exempt from this rule.
