  • Shift Requirements: 3x12s or 4x12s
  • Locals: Not accepted
  • Call-Ins: If a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to make up the day during the pay period, if a 0.9 FTE. OR if a 0.9 FTE and unable to make up during the pay period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract. If a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract
  • Weekends: Travelers are expected to work every other week per their contract. Pending operational needs, consecutive weekends may be needed based on the greatest need
  • Charge coverage: Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resources.
    • Job Requirements
    • Minimum 2 years experience
    • Proficient in cardiac monitoring- on unit monitoring
    • Management of chest tubes
    • Fresh trachs
    • Feeding tube care and management
    • Care of post of patients
    • Epidurals
    • Management of non-titratable cardiac drips
    • IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips
    • External BiPAP/CPAP
    • Total laryngectomy
    • Doppler flap checks
    • Floating Requirements: Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals
    • REFUSAL TO FLOAT MAY END IN TERMINATION OF CONTRACT
    • Staffing Ratios: 1:4
      • Schedule Information
      • Travelers are expected to work every other week per their contract
      • Pending operational needs, consecutive weekends may be needed based on the greatest need
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals
          • Additional Details
          • Valid Driver's License or Passport accepted. Must be clear copy.
          • ACLS and BCLS required for all candidates.
          • Online Verification of License to include expiration date and any disciplinary actions (within 30 days before start date). Must be through primary source.
