Job Description:

Position Summary This position will serve as the facility's subject matter expert regarding product emissions related to small engines and will ensure products comply with EPA, CARB, and ECCC emissions regulations. This position will also be responsible for working with operations, and the EHS compliance groups in advising emissions-related technical information. Responsibilities: Demonstrate and maintain critical and in-depth understanding of the current and upcoming emissions regulations. Translate the regulations to technical (i.e., product, process) and business requirements. Monitor changes to regulatory requirements and communicate relevant information to site, as appropriate. Distinguish between regulatory, process, product planning, and business risks to formulate and prioritize responses and risk mitigation in close collaboration with different departments. Lead process development and continuous process improvement activities necessary to remain compliant with different regulations. Formulate responses from different regulatory agencies. Maintain a strong commitment to compliance. Support the development and provide input to the training plan to ensure compliance with emissions regulatory requirements. Develop detailed plans for regular audits at different departments to ensure compliance with emissions regulatory requirement. Maintain accountability for agency related correspondence including applications, audits, and renewals for certifications. Represent Company at Industry Associations and standards development committees. Provide technical support to the corporate legal staff or outside legal counsel on possible product problems and claims. Provide relevant technical support on products. Qualifications: Relevant degree (B.S Engineering, Environmental, Design, or similar field). Experience working in the engine, off-road equipment, emissions certification, and testing areas/field. Strong Knowledge of US EPA and CARB Emissions regulations. Strong research and analytical skills, ability to identify trends. Strong knowledge of engine testing equipment, software, and tools. Strong technical experience, capability of process mapping and improvement, and willingness to work hands-on in cross functional teams to drive identified improvement initiatives. Strong problem-solving skills, and drive, with an ability to lead multiple projects and initiatives in parallel. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate effectively on compliance topics with different departments.
